An Achiever

Hi, I am back on my Princess' Diaries, to write a short update. I find it hard to maintain two blogs at a time, but for now, am sharing a little about my Princess.

It's kinda hard to deal with a precocious child like my Princess. And she's just as witty and devilish like her Mom in so many ways. The Kitkat girl? When it was time for her to take her vitamins (she did some baby-talk, glad she did, at least she experienced that stage when growing up kids cannot do away with baby talks, important is, they can express what they want) she'd mumble "Mom, my happanin" instead of vitamins. So we have to understand her words for that.

I always wanted to let her hair wear a ponytail, but much to my disappointments, she wouldn't wish anything tied to her hair. And to think she's sporting a long hair. She wanted to sport a boyish look then. And it would always be an endless debate between us for her to try to be more feminine. She'd kick some assholes in their school and so nobody dared to hurl some bad jokes on her.

Her love for numbers waned when one teacher of her was highly critical of her performance. I found out that in my Princess' case, teachers can either make or unmake a student. And that was what happened to my girl. I was that stage parent who went to school to complain about it but nothing happened.

She's a bemedalled student in the elementary grades and high school years and her two kid brothers followed suit. She became Editor in Chief in her high school school paper and a Chief Girl Scout Medalist for being able to work on a project in Ecology in our community. The several hundreds of Mahogany trees she planted in our community along the highway now stand tall, living mementos that my child has helped saved our environment and in general, planet Earth.

My Princess is fast growing up now...

Comes my next post, I will talk about a grown-up girl already...now in college...:)

On Her Toddler Years

(For almost eight months now, I was not able to post any blog here. I would say, I do not have the luxury of time to do it. For now, I just want to update it and hopefully thereafter, post some more about my Princess.)

When she was yet a toddler, she would often tell her Mom that when she grows up, she would like to be a lovely princess or a queen.

But she is of no royal blood, hence that would remain an elusive dream for her.

As the years went by, Empress Michiko as she is fondly called at home, shows she's a precocious child. From nursery to kindergarten, she was able to memorize the planets in the universe, the alphabet, the basic mathematical operations and read a story book at an advance age compared to  her contemporaries.

She's an eager learner. She would ask questions you wouldn't believe her age would ever be asking. We knew then that she's an early bloomer.

During her graduation at pre-school, she displayed a tantrum which prompted us to bring her home without even receiving her medals for achievements she made in school and got the hardest lesson from her Dad. And from then on, she's afraid to commit another mistake of a tantrum.

All she wanted at that time was a bar of Kit Kat chocolate. We promised her that we will buy her after the graduation ceremonies but when she was up the stage to deliver an acrostic, she started to cry hard, asking for a bar of Kit Kat.

Empress Michiko

When she was yet a young lovable baby and even up to now, we call her Empress Michiko. But her real name is Michelle Kaye. But why Empress Michiko?

Empress Michiko of Japan, (皇后美智子 Kōgō, born October 20, 1934) formerly Michiko Shōda (正田 美智子, Shōda Michiko?) and later the Crown Princess of Japan (April 10, 1959 to January 7, 1989), is the wife and consort of the reigning Emperor of JapanHIM Emperor Akihito. She was the first commoner to marry into the Japanese Imperial Family. As Crown Princess and later as Empress, she has become the most visible and widely-travelled imperial consort in Japanese history. Her full title is Her Imperial Majesty The Empress of Japan.

I was then inspired of how a commoner has to be married to a Japanese Imperial Family. I want her to become like Empress Michiko. Maybe, it's an ambitious dream but who knows that her life will become like a Cinderella story where a Wondeful Prince Charming will marry her?

For My Princess' Diaries

I will be using this blogspot to post diaries of my princess since she was conceived up to the present. The diaries will highlight significant events in her life from conception to birth, to growing up and up to the time that I can still write about her.
